In a re-affirmation of quality and dedication to environmental sustainability, Torrevieja has once again earned the prestigious Blue Flags for six of its beaches: Cala Piteras, Los Náufragos, El Cura, Los Locos, Cabo Cervera, and La Mata-Sur, set for summer 2024. This international accolade not only certifies the cleanliness, safety, and accessibility of the beaches but also underscores the commendable work by the City Council in environmental education and overall beach management. The honour serves as recognition of the city’s commitment to maintaining high standards for residents and tourists alike. Special mention was also given to Torrevieja for its exceptional efforts in “Environmental Education”, spotlighting the successful collaboration between public efforts and citizen involvement in fulfilling rigorous environmental criteria. Beaches Councillor Antonio Vidal reiterates the local government’s dedication to achieving further accolades that endorse Torrevieja’s beaches as prime destinations for quality and sustainability.
