In Torrevieja, the town hall has had to retract the beach maintenance tender after realising it overlapped with services already covered by Acciona’s waste disposal contract, leading to widespread criticism. The move delays a tender aimed at improving public toilet availability beyond the high season, with a total investment of €2,124,530.44 over four years. The revised tender is still undergoing legal checks, with hopes to introduce a beach support group to aid bathers.
