The Ministry of Health has registered 10,306 positive Covid cases, 1,986 more cases than three days ago. The latest report includes the second highest figure for the month of September, after 10,760 a week ago.

In terms of accumulated incidence, the figure remains stable for another week with 136.26 positives per 100,000 inhabitants over 60 years of age. This age group adds 5,787 infections compared to 4,607 on Tuesday.

The hospital situation in Spain has decreased by 309 beds in three days. Health has reported 2,206 admissions in its latest report and 129 in the ICU. The Intensive Care Unit continues to experience its best moment since the start of the pandemic with a bed occupancy rate of 1.52%, compared to 2.46% at the beginning of the month (210 serious people in the report). Catalonia has the highest number of ICU admissions, 25; followed by the Community of Madrid with 22, the Valencian Community with 15, and the Canary Islands with 11.

Deaths have experienced an increase in the last report. The ministry has registered 72 deaths from Covid, 17 more than at the beginning of the week.

With the arrival of the cold and the assessment of a new rebound by experts, vaccination plays a fundamental role in avoiding reviving figures that resemble past waves.

The Public Health Commission has recommended vaccination with the second booster dose against Covid-19 for those over 60 years of age and those considered vulnerable, despite only 54% of the population taking up the offer of the third dose. In addition, experts support that it be administered together with the antidote against the flu.
