According to the latest official balance, offered by the Coordination Centre for Health Alerts and Emergencies (consolidated data as of September 30), there are 13,422,984 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Spain, which is an increase of 10,721 compared to the last update, and 114,179 is the total number of deaths reported so far, again, an increase of 95 people.

At the start of this month, on 4 September, the updated infection figure was just short of 6,703, when a total of 13,358,722 people were infected, and has been showing an increasing trend. Since the start of September, an additional 70,000 people have become infected with Covid. We must keep in mind however that only a small portion of the population are being tested and these figures only reflect that group.

Covid Infections in Spain

September has also seen 1,725 more people losing their lives to the virus, with this latest update on Friday increasing by 20 above the 75 recorded on Tuesday.

Covid Deaths in Spain

As planned, the vaccination campaign for the second booster dose against COVID-19, adapted to the new variants, began on Monday. After vaccinating people over 80 and in residences, the next group will be those over 60, in addition to health and social health personnel.
