The Costa balance is bracing itself for the biggest St Patrick’s Day Parade Cabo Roig has ever seen! This is one of the largest parades in Europe, outside of Ireland and tomorrow – 17th March – it will be better than ever after a four-year hiatus. The parade will last for around 90 minutes with marching bands, dance groups, a variety of different acts and to create a carnival atmosphere. The parade will start at 3pm but the fun and frivolities will start earlier, around 12noon, as people head to the area to get a good viewing spot. All the bars on the strip will have live music throughout the day and night and everyone is invited to come have the craic!

The back and front of the strip will be covered with green white and gold buntings to add to the occasion and the guest of honour, parade Marshall Anthony Molloy, will be on hand to give a ‘cead mile failte’ (a hundred thousand welcomes) to everyone. He will be joined by other VIP Irish guests, along with the Mayor and the councillors of Orihuela Costa.

The Parade Committee said: “Once again a big thanks goes to the Town Hall for its continuous support of the parade. The team there has been involved with us from the first day without their support the parade simply would not happen. Thanks also go to all the business in Cabo Roig that have run fundraising events such as golf classics, bowling, race nights, raffles and to the suppliers of the business in Cabo Roig for their support. A full list of will be posted on the Facebook page before the parade, as each day more businesses are getting involved. Not forgetting the hard-working committee members who have put in a lot of work over the past few months to make the day spectacular.
