The largest shopping centre in Alicante Province, Zenia Boulevard is getting an 18-million-euro revamp. The work is being carried out at night to minimise disruption to shoppers, and shops and restaurants are open as usual. The entertainment programme will also continue with concerts, workshops and promotions carryingon as scheduled.

Over the next few months, the facades, pavements, and all public areas including children’s leisure areas, will be revamped. The centre is home to more than 150 shops, bars and restaurants including big-name brands such as Media Markt, Primark, Leroy Merlin, H&M, Primark and Alcampo supermarket.

Zenia Boulevard opened in September 2012 and welcomed 14 million visitors last year. It is owned by American firm CBRE Investment Management.

CBRE general director for Spain and Portugal, Antonio Simontalero, said: “With our commitment to excellence, we will increase the high standards that Zenia Boulevard has offered since its opening and consolidate its position as one of the best centres in the province and Spain.”
