Residents in Benidorm are planning a demonstration in protest against the significant increases in IBI property and garbage tax rates. The IBI tax is set to rise by twenty-two point nine four percent and garbage taxes by seventy-one point eight two percent next year, with businesses being hit particularly hard. Homeowners will have to find an extra ninety-two euros in twenty twenty-four, while the garbage tax for domestic properties will increase from one hundred twelve point seven four six euros to one hundred ninety-three point seven two euros. The demonstration, which will take place in the Plaza de SSMM los Reyes de España, is non-political and reflects the discontent among residents. Despite negative press coverage in UK tabloids, tourism experts believe that Brits will continue to visit Benidorm.
