A sixty-six-year-old British man had to be rescued after getting stuck on a cliff in the Serra Gelada area of Benidorm. He had descended the steep face at Punta Lisa but was unable to climb back up or continue due to a fall. The difficult location ruled out a direct rescue from the sea, so the Benidorm Policia Local and fire crews arrived via helicopter to carry out the rescue operation. The man was later taken to a nearby health center and then to the hospital for treatment of slight bruising.
