In an effort to ensure the safety of bathers with the beginning of the bathing season, the municipality of Guardamar del Segura has implemented a temporary ban on recreational fishing at its central beaches: Centre, La Roqueta, Babilònia, and El Moncaio. This measure is taken as these beaches are the most frequented, and there’s a concern over harm that fishing equipment might cause to beachgoers. However, to accommodate fishing enthusiasts, the municipality has permitted night-time fishing, between 21:00 and 09:00, on four of its other beaches: Els Tossals, Dels Vivers, El Camp, and Les Ortigues, until April 8th.
