The Councilor for the Environment and Beaches, Antonio Vidal, announced that the Torrevieja City Council is continuing its efforts to protect the Kentish Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus), a critically endangered bird species in Spain. The birds primarily nest in the Natural Park of the La Mata and Torrevieja lagoons, with some also choosing the Molino del Agua dune system.
