In response to ongoing struggles faced by the agricultural sector, various farmer associations in the Community of Valencia have announced extensive protests slated to stretch across the region. Essential agricultural bodies like ASAJA Alicante and the Valencia Association of Farmers are spearheading this initiative to highlight the dire need for substantive agricultural policy adjustments at local, national, and EU levels. Included in the planned demonstrations is a noteworthy tractor rally commencing in Elche and concluding at the Alicante port. The protests, building upon previous actions initiated in February, aim to bring to the fore the agricultural communities’ demand for more impactful support measures conducive to enhancing farming profitability and sustainability. Noteworthy concerns include the perceived inadequacies of recent Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) flexibilities, with the associations seeking more radical and beneficial policy shifts rather than superficial adjustments.
