In recent hours, the Orihuela Local Police have made two arrests related to criminal activities in various areas. An Irish national was detained in Orihuela Costa for causing significant damage to eight vehicles by breaking windows and lights. He was found carrying a heavy ‘U’ lock, presumed used in committing the vandalism. Additionally, another individual was apprehended for stealing fuel from several vehicles in the parking lot of the Carrefour in Orihuela Centro, utilizing tools to break the vehicles’ fuel caps.

The arrest comes as the Orihuela authorities anticipate a rise in criminal activities during the Easter festivities, with many taking advantage of public gatherings to engage in unlawful activities. The Local Police have bolstered their presence throughout the municipality to enhance public security and deter potential criminals during this period. The deployment of more officers is viewed as a crucial measure to ensure the safety and security of the citizens during significant events.
