A swastika and anti-government graffiti calling for the execution of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez were spotted on the front of the Socialist Party headquarters in Alicante during the early hours of Sunday morning. The graffiti includes both the Nazi symbol and the scope of a gun next to Sanchez’s name. The PSOE socialists have accused supporters of the conservative Partido Popular (PP) and the far right of being behind the attack, attributing it to a climate of hatred that makes dialogue impossible and regresses society to an unfortunate historical epoch. This incident has been reported to the Policia Nacional. Secretary-general of the Alicante PSOE, Miguel Milana, decried the attack as an assault on democratic coexistence. This attack follows previous incidents of politically motivated graffiti on PSOE buildings, marking a troubling trend of targeted political vandalism.
