In Valencia, Spain, on April 12th, four women were arrested by the local police on charges of organized pickpocketing directed at tourist groups in the vicinity of the City of Arts and Sciences. Reportedly acting in coordination, using clothes accessories such as sunglasses, hats, and scarves for distraction, they targeted tourists. They were apprehended following an incident where they attempted to steal a wallet from a tourist’s backpack, an act witnessed by the group’s guide and police officers. Following a brief struggle, the tourists managed to recover the stolen item, and the perpetrators fled towards the City of Justice but were eventually detained by the police. At the time of their arrest, the women possessed numerous accessories intended to aid in their crimes and evade identification.
