The Diputación de Alicante is dedicating nearly €1.3 million in subsidies to foster sports participation and event hosting within the province, highlighting its commitment to sports promotion. Specifically, €640,000 is allocated to assist clubs in organising significant events such as world, EU, and Spanish championships, aiming to attract high-profile tournaments with substantial social and economic impact. Another €400,000 is earmarked for senior teams participating in national and European leagues to cover expenses, demonstrating the council’s support for competitive sports at the highest levels. Furthermore, €170,000 will support amateur football and futsal clubs in official federated competitions, and €80,000 is set aside for projects aligning with health, equality, and inclusion, including support for adaptive and inclusive sports clubs. These financial injections are expected to enhance the sporting landscape by enabling clubs to host major events, compete at a higher level, and engage in health and equity-related activities. The application window for these subsidies is currently open, with deadlines ranging from May 9 to May 20.
