Demolition work on a 100-year-old subsiding road bridge over Lo Quiles watercourse on the CV-95 at San Miguel de Salinas has been completed just in time to avert what could have been a significant disaster, according to local residents. The impacted bridge, critical for local transit and safety, was identified by the town’s Arcángel residents’ association, which had raised concerns about structural deficiencies to the regional government seven months prior. Their proactive measures have now paid off, leading to timely action to dismantle the potentially hazardous structure. Fears of a catastrophic event have been alleviated, thanks to the demolition of the bridge, which was deemed essential for ensuring the safety of the local community.
