In a tragic workplace accident in Orihuela, near Alicante, a 51-year-old man has been seriously injured after falling from the roof of a vehicle workshop. The incident occurred on the road from Murcia to Alicante, close to the Puente Alto Industrial Estate, when the worker fell approximately 6 metres after the asbestos cement he was on broke unexpectedly. Upon the arrival of medical personnel, the man was found in cardiorespiratory arrest but was subsequently stabilised by the emergency services. Currently, he is in serious condition, being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Vega Baja. The incident has raised concerns over workplace safety, particularly in relation to the handling and stability of asbestos cement.
