In a significant acknowledgement of their commitment to tourism quality, Torrevieja and eight other municipalities across Alicante have been awarded the SICTED badges for quality tourism. This prestigious recognition was accorded in a ceremony in the Elche Palmeral, presided over by José Manuel Camarero, the Director General of Tourism of the Valencian Community. The SICTED (Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination) project aims to enhance the quality of tourist destinations and is promoted by the State Secretariat for Tourism (SETUR), with over 260 participating destinations at a national level, including 41 from the Valencian Community.

Torrevieja’s commendable participation in the event, represented by its Tourism Councillor, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, and various tourism service providers such as Nautical Activities Torrevieja, Hotel Lloyd’s Beach Club, Mar Time, Yacht Tek España, Restaurant La Mata “El Felisa”, Kiosco Pura Vida, and Cai Salud Hearing Centers, underscores a persistent pursuit of excellence in tourism services. Since 2012, they have been involved in the quality project, leading to the renewal of the badge for 35 tourism services and its first-time acquisition for 10 others. The accolades underline the municipality’s and the region’s efforts towards maintaining high standards in tourism quality, ensuring an exceptional experience for visitors.
