After years of neglect, the Los Vikingos neighbourhood in Mil Palmeras, Pilar de la Horadada, is set for a €4.5 million facelift. The local government has announced a comprehensive renovation plan focusing on road improvement, sanitation, lighting, green spaces, and the introduction of a shared space concept for roadways to ensure pedestrian priority. Originating from the 80s, the neighbourhood’s infrastructure, including roads with potholes and asbestos-containing water pipes, is in dire need of an overhaul. The project, crafted by Ingemed engineering study, also aims to increase parking availability, a critical need during peak summer months. With ambitious plans to enhance the living conditions and safety in the area, this investment marks a significant commitment to the Los Vikingos community.
