This is the first time the Department has launched a mobile vaccination unit without an appointment, now visiting various points in the Valencian Community with a large influx of people. To get vaccinated, only the SIP card is required, without the need to request an appointment.
So far, 2,187 people have been vaccinated in the mobile unit. The itinerant tour began on November 9 in Alicante and Elche, and last weekend it moved to Castellón and Vila-real.
Where to get Vaccinated
The mobile unit is scheduled to be installed this weekend in Gandia, in Plaza del Tirant s/n at the end of Passeig de Les Germanies, on Saturday 23 November and on Sunday 24 November it will be installed on the esplanade of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de València.
Subsequently, it is planned to move on November 8 to Alcoy in Plaza Pintor Gisbert, on December 14 to Plaza SS.MM Los Reyes de España in Benidorm, and on December 15, it will move to Torrevieja and will be located at Avda. Dr. Gregorio Marañón number 7.
Importance of Vaccine Schedule
Finally, it is important to remember the importance of keeping the vaccination schedule up to date and continuing with the seasonal vaccination campaign against influenza and Covid-19, as pointed out by the Public Health response coordination group, made up of experts from the Department of Health and the Ministry of Health, among others.
In addition, specialists insist on the need to administer systematic vaccination, that is, the vaccination schedule, especially in the child population under 2 years of age who have not yet been immunized.

Man Arrested in Denia for Seven Robberies

A 20-year-old repeat offender has been taken into custody by the National Police on suspicion of conducting up to seven robberies at Denia’s business premises. He faces charges of fraud, theft, and burglary. A number of robberies that took place between December 2024 and January 2025 were solved by investigators.
Actually, a “unusual increase” in local burglaries prompted the start of the probe. The security team installed a tool that enabled them to spot recurring themes in the robberies and connect them to the now-arrested person.
At the end of December, a young guy broke the lower lock and shattered the glass of the entrance door of a clothes store during the first heist. While someone else was on guard, he was able to get in and steal thirty euros.
He used a similar tactic to target a nearby pub the following week. Once inside, he stole 250 euros in cash after forcing a side door until the opening mechanism broke. The same clothes store was targeted once more a few days later. The young man stole 1,556 euros worth of clothing by repeating the approach, damaging the hinges and the lower portion of the door.
A supermarket in Denia reported locker tampering and the disappearance of many wallets at the same time as all of these incidents. Additionally, one victim found that the cards they carried were being used fraudulently.
Two robberies at the same pub in Denia at the end of December are added to these instances. He rode a bicycle and exploited the early hours to force open the establishment’s sliding doors without causing any obvious damage. Before the alarm went off, he was able to take 500 euros in change from the cash register the first time. A few days later, he went back to the same place with a bank card and a cell phone and tried to make a transaction.
Connections between the incidences and the juvenile offender were made possible by the examination of every offence. It was established that he exploited the physical closeness of his targets to his own house to operate inside a certain radius. As a result, he was able to quickly hide without being noticed and leave the area.
The man has a previous history for a number of property-related offences and was arrested in Teulada at the end of January. The investigation to find a potential second accomplice in some of the crimes is still ongoing, however he has been taken before the Denia Magistrate’s Court.

Fisherman’s body found in Torrevieja

Early on Saturday morning, Torrevieja firefighters, the Guardia Civil, and the local police rescued a body that was drifting close to the Cala Cornuda cliffs in Torrevieja.
One of the visitors who came to observe the condition of the sea in a region renowned for its breathtaking storm waves set off the alert at around ten to eight on Saturday morning. Until the Torrevieja Local Police patrol arrived, the witness stayed in the vicinity.
In extremely unfavourable maritime storm circumstances, the local police were able to secure the body with a rope and a life preserver until the firefighters from Torrevieja arrived and performed the extraction in a secure location.
Finally, the body—which was in a highly decomposed state—was recovered. He had on specialised boat fishing gear and a wetsuit.
Civil Guard sources said that they are conducting the necessary processes to identify him and ascertain the reason of his death.
The Torrevieja Judicial Police’s Territorial Team has notified the Torrevieja Court on Duty and is conducting the inquiry.
According to people close to the fire department and security forces, it might be a fisherman, but they were unable to identify the deceased’s gender due to the condition of the body following the time spent at sea. The powerful easterly storm over the past three days brought the body to the Torrevieja coast.

Guardamar hoteliers are still demonstrating against the new terrace rules

A prestigious law firm, López Graña, has been hired by the ‘Platform for People Affected by the Regulations for the Occupation of Public Roads in Shops in Guardamar del Segura’ to defend its interests against the new municipal regulations that affect the installation of terraces in the town. In comparison to neighbouring municipalities like Torrevieja or Santa Pola, the platform believes that the measure imposed by the City Council is a response to political interests and jeopardises the viability of its enterprises.
According to the portal, 55% of the terraces have not yet processed their licence, and the mayor of Guardamar is allegedly utilising his social networks to exert pressure on industry business owners. They also take issue with the City Council sending representatives to measure and take pictures of the terraces and the announcement that signs will be put up right away in the impacted locations. In addition, they assert that “they have documented how the mayor has ignored their allegations and that the technical reports used to justify the regulations do not conclude a real benefit for the citizens.”
With López Graña’s help, the platform has chosen to take legal action in response to what they perceive to be “harassment by the City Council” in an effort to halt the ordinance. “We will not willingly dismantle our terraces. Those impacted believe a judge will need to issue an order if they wish to remove them. It is important to keep in mind that this new rule forbids the use of any signage or protective element after business hours and mandates the instant removal of platforms and fixed enclosures with no chance of reinstallation.
Hoteliers have organised weekly protests against the proposal, which comes soon before Easter. They will call for protests at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento at 12:00 on Friday 7th March and every Friday after that to voice their disapproval of the rules. The platform, which unites over 70 local businessmen, feels that the action jeopardises the life of many families and has a significant impact on Guardamar del Segura’s hotel industry.
“For decent and safe terraces, yes to platforms” is the slogan that the hoteliers are using to express their will to keep protesting until the City Council makes the necessary adjustments.
