Alicante’s new street food market will open later in the month

Alicante Street Food Market

In the city of Alicante, people enjoy living outside. Particularly when it comes to delicious food and cultural events, its streets, squares, and promenades make the ideal location for spending time with loved ones.

Despite the current bad weather, those who enjoy street entertainment are in luck since the Alicante Street Food Market is back in Espacio Séneca for its ninth edition, bringing with it its customary craft market.

Plaza Séneca will be converted from March 20th to 23rd into a lively gathering place for fans of street food and artisanal innovation. What started out as a small culinary event in 2015 has grown into a province-wide icon, drawing thousands of people each time.

There will be something for every taste at this tenth edition, as 12 vintage food trucks will provide a diverse gastronomic selection that includes everything from Tex-Mex to hamburgers, hot dogs, and crepes. More than 40 stands of designers, artists, and craftspeople will also be present in the Market area, serving as a platform for both domestic and foreign talent.

However, this gathering is much more than just crafts and food. With a lineup of performers and bands that will enliven the days on the two stages that have been set up—one in Plaza Séneca and another in Espacio Séneca—live music will be the main attraction.

Raúl Antón will perform as a DJ at the opening on Thursday, March 20th at 6 p.m. Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, an Extremaduran band, will debut in Alicante on Friday night.

The Liverpool Band, one of the greatest Beatles tribute bands, will take the stage on Saturday morning. Later that day, the Alicante group Guaraná will perform an acoustic set featuring their greatest hits, including “La casa de Inés” and “Noche en Vela.” At 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Xeco Rojo will conclude the musical program.

Additionally, there will be activities specifically tailored for the younger audience, including storytelling, Clown Edy’s children’s shows, art classes, and a performance by Dani Miquel.

In order to ensure that the music never stops playing during the four days, DJ Alacant will also be in charge of establishing the ambiance during non-live moments.

Free admission will be provided, and bars will serve beer and soft beverages to go with the food selection.

The easiest way to view the whole program and be sure not to miss any events is to check out the Alacant Street Food Market’s social media accounts.

Alicante drug dealer arrested

Alicante Drugs

As part of its efforts to combat drug trafficking, the National Police have investigated a store in a house north of Alicante that sold a variety of illegal drugs, including cocaine and heroin. As a result of the police action, a 44-year-old lady of Spanish descent has been arrested.

The officers were able to identify the resident, a middle-aged woman, after conducting multiple inspections at the house under investigation.

The suspect was the subject of several monitoring and follow-ups during the police investigation, which allowed the agents to confirm that she was responsible for delivering the drug from her residence to those who arrived to get their dosage.

The suspect was arrested as part of a police operation after it was determined that she was involved in the sale and distribution of narcotic substances and that she utilised the house to conceal the money she had gotten illegally as well as to conduct drug transactions.

After the arrest, a search of the house turned up 450 euros in bills, 229 grammes of cocaine, and 96 grammes of heroin.

The detainee is now available to the Alicante on-call court when the police proceedings are concluded.

A significant drug sales hub that served the whole northern region of Alicante has been eliminated thanks to the police operation.

An Almoradí resident correctly predicts all six lottery numbers

Lottery

The town of Almoradí in the La Vega Baja region of Alicante was blessed with the Bonoloto draw yesterday, Tuesday, March 4th. A resident of the town correctly guessed the six numbers of the winning combination of the draw, or, to put it another way, the maximum prize that was up for grabs. This is because, unlike the La Primitiva draw, the Bonoloto does not require a guess for the complementary number in order to access the first prize.

All that is known about the winner at this time is that he validated his wager at a tobacco shop on Manuel de Torres Avenue in the municipality of Alicante. The winner will receive 372,001.42 euros and won’t have to divide the staked money with anyone else because he was the only one in Spain to properly guess all six numbers.

The following numbers make up the draw’s winning combination:

02-11-24-35-38-42 44 and Refund: 4.

Also, by matching four numbers and two suns, a San Juan de Alicante resident won 5,617.80 euros as a fourth-category winner in the ONCE Eurojackpot draw on Wednesday, March 4th.

From his point of sale on Avenida Rambla 6, Marcelo Gaztañaga Satianes, an ONCE-affiliated vendor in this town, has been fortunate. Since November 2016, Marcelo has worked as a seller at the ONCE Headquarters in Alicante.

From the design to the promotion of its social, safe, and responsible lottery, ONCE employs controls to counteract unchecked purchasing. Among other things, it specifically forbids sales to minors or credit-based purchases. By encouraging a responsible gaming policy and using the strictest evaluation and monitoring procedures established by the European Lottery Association and the World Lottery Association, the organisation upholds its obligation to the public.

Backpacker arrested for false robbery claim

Police National

After reporting that he had been the victim of a vicious knife attack on an Alicante street, a 40-year-old Colombian man was arrested by the National Police for posing as a criminal. The individual who was arrested acknowledged that he had made up some of the events, but he told the police that he had no insurance, despite suspicions that the goal was to get paid by an insurance company.

The man who was arrested for feigning a crime told the police that two men had approached him on the street, taken the rucksack he was holding, and threatened him with a switchblade during the altercation. According to his version, he gave up his possessions out of terror, and the criminals ran away.

He stated that he had a laptop, bank card, company documents, and his car keys in his backpack. However, the officers’ early police investigations made them doubt the complainant’s version of events.

The complainant was called back by the police to elaborate on his account and provide further details. According to the authorities, the individual went to the Northern authorities Station in Alicante and was evasive and anxious during the interrogation until he eventually acknowledged that he had changed his account of events.

As he had stated in his first testimony, the man acknowledged that his rucksack had been stolen, but he did so without threatening him or using a weapon. Additionally, he said that the accused burglars had used his debit card to pay 40 euros at a café.

Upon examining the transactions made using the pilfered card, the agents found that the purchase was for a mobile churro stand, where such a high amount of money was uncommon, rather than a bar or café. By supplementing the existing evidence, this proof demonstrated the complaint’s partial falsehood.

The proceedings were brought to the notice of the on-duty Alicante court, and the detainee had no criminal history.

The National Police remind people that making a fake report is illegal and can have serious repercussions. Furthermore, this kind of activity wastes resources that could be utilised to protect actual victims and solve actual crimes.
