The trial of a man accused of sexually assaulting a disabled lady in a town in the Vega Baja region is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday March 7th, in Elche.

According to the prosecution, the victim and the defendant were near the municipal sports centre at around 10:00 p.m. when the defendant threw the woman to the ground and forced himself on her sexually in spite of her protests and resistance.

For the offence of sexual assault with penetration of a person in need of special protection, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is asking for 14 years in jail.

A fire that began in a fireworks factory in the Fontcalent neighbourhood of the municipality of Alicante has injured two people.

According to a resolution released by the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) and reported by Europa Press, Avatel was fined 1.81 million euros in February for supplying “inaccurate or erroneous” information regarding its operations in 2023.
