At Alicante-Elche Airport, EasyJet is now the second-busiest airline. Last spring, the company created a base at the Alicante terminal, which helped it raise passenger numbers by 12%.

The low-cost airline will now start two new routes with southern Europe, about a year after it first opened, as part of its ongoing investments in the El Altet airport. The trial of a man accused of sexually assaulting a disabled lady in a town in the Vega Baja region is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday March 7th, in Elche.

According to the prosecution, the victim and the defendant were near the municipal sports centre at around 10:00 p.m. when the defendant threw the woman to the ground and forced himself on her sexually in spite of her protests and resistance.

For the offence of sexual assault with penetration of a person in need of special protection, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is asking for 14 years in jail.
