Parkopedia expands global charge point coverage to new markets through partnership with Middle East charging solutions provider, Regeny
Thursday 9 May, 2024
Partnership between Parkopedia and Regeny enables drivers to access charge point location data via their in-car media systems in new emerging markets Regeny provides access to their database of half of the current EV charge points in the UAE, with ambitious plans for growth across the Middle EastThis partnership enables EV drivers across the UAE and, in time, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Jordan, to benefit from accurate in-car charge point data
09 May 2024 – London, UK / Dubai, UAE
Parkopedia has partnered with EV charging solutions provider Regeny to provide Middle East drivers with charge point data in their vehicle head units, to simplify the process of locating chargers. Finding public charge points is a highly stressful experience for the vast majority of EV drivers, with 91% stating that this causes them anxiety, according to the latest Parkopedia Global Driver Survey.
This partnership will initially see UAE charging data available in cars from one of the premium global automakers, providing drivers with access to half of the EV chargers in the UAE. Offering such a high level of coverage in the UAE will significantly simplify the process of locating chargers for the rapidly growing number of EV drivers across the region and continue to improve adoption rates. Later this year, Middle Eastern drivers will also benefit from aggregated charging data in additional markets, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Jordan – countries with a cumulative population of more than 200 million.
Regeny offers access to more than 50 active charging sites and aggregates nearly 2,000 charging ports across the UAE, with more than 500 of these deployed within the last year. The company’s OCPI roaming platform enables smart mobility and fleet owners to tap into the UAE’s aggregated charging network, with expansion into Saudi Arabia planned before the end of 2024.
The UAE was recently rated the world’s eighth most prepared country for autonomous driving1, ranking ahead of the UK, Japan and Germany. This high rating was helped by having the highest level of technology infrastructure change readiness and the greatest readiness of drivers, with the UAE showing a high interest in new technology and strong demand for connected car services, which should ensure a fast uptake of such features.
Parkopedia is working with numerous CPOs to extend its charging POI data coverage across increasingly important markets, such as India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Chile. These partnerships will enable Parkopedia to provide seamless connected car services to global OEMs that take the stress out of finding and paying for parking and charging for their drivers across even more countries.
Discussing the new collaboration, Jaap van den Hoek, Global Head of Partnerships at Parkopedia, commented: “We recognise the importance of taking the stress out of locating public chargers for EV drivers across the world. This is equally as important in emerging EV markets, such as the Middle East, which show strong signs of EV growth and we are delighted to be working with Regeny as its ambitious growth plans align with our mission of providing seamless connected car services to drivers around the globe.”
Talking about the new partnership, Regeny co-founder and CEO, Anish Racherla, said: “Regeny is building a community of EV users and stakeholders making the shift to electric mobility seamless. Our collaboration with Parkopedia is the first in the region to enable charging information to be embedded in connected car ecosystems. This partnership will bring in an era of smart mobility for the UAE and Middle East.”

driveJohnson’s offers free driving lessons to young people with cancer
Tuesday 23 April, 2024
driveJohnson's, a national driving school based in Milton Keynes, has launched its new Drive Against Cancer Scheme, offering free driving lessons to young people with cancer.
The Director of the company, Anthony Johnson, lost his father to cancer and his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer earlier this year. As a result, he is passionate about supporting cancer patients and their families. He ran the London Marathon just a few days ago and raised over £4500 for Young Lives Vs Cancer, which provides support to children, young people, and their families after a cancer diagnosis. However, Anthony wanted to do more and thus the Drive Against Cancer Scheme was born.
Under the scheme, YLVC puts forward to driveJohnson's a young person with cancer who would benefit from free driving lessons. That person will then receive up to 50 hours of free driving lessons from one of driveJohnson's driving instructors in their local area.
The first learner to benefit from Drive Against Cancer is Danika Hill, an 18-year-old based in Milton Keynes. When she found out that she would be receiving free driving lessons she said, "I was shocked. I couldn’t believe anyone would want to give me free driving lessons, let alone 50 hours of them! […] I couldn’t find the words, I felt so thankful."
driveJohnson's is following her progress and hopes to roll out Drive Against Cancer to more young people as the scheme builds momentum.

MotorSales.ai Unveils Revolutionary App Store for Independent UK Car Dealerships
Monday 22 April, 2024
New Platform for Dealers Aiming to Sell More Cars! Providing Free Cutting-Edge Tools
MotorSales.ai is offering UK car dealerships early access to its innovative platform.
With over 50,000 lines of code and more than 10,000 hours of development, MotorSales.ai provides a first-of-its-kind App Store that levels the playing field for independents, who have historically been sidelined by solutions catering to larger conglomerates.
"In the rapidly evolving automotive market, leveraging technology is no longer an option but a necessity," said James Smith, Innovation Director at MotorSales.ai. "Our platform is built from the ground up to empower independents. We're not just offering tools; we're crafting bespoke solutions that celebrate and amplify the distinctiveness of independent dealers."
With MotorSales.ai moving from their Alpha to Beta phase, the platform invites dealers to join their waiting list for early access and enhance their sales capabilities by accessing a suite of powerful, free tools designed specifically for the unique needs of independent operators.
The platform features an array of tools including an integrated enquiry management system, seamless finance processes, and sophisticated AI-driven advertising strategies to ensure vehicles reach the most relevant audiences. This suite of resources aims to streamline operations, boost sales efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction without the added marketing costs.
Jonathan, founder of AnyColourCar.com and who has previously worked in senior positions for large car supermarkets, has already seen significant benefits from early access to the platform. "MotorSales.ai levels the playing field, providing us independents the kind of technological firepower I would expect to be more exclusive to larger players. Since using the platform, my finance proposals and contact rates have skyrocketed. It's a game-changer," Jonathan shared.
As MotorSales.ai moves into its Beta phase, they are keen on receiving feedback from dealers to refine and perfect the platform, ensuring it meets the evolving demands of the modern car sales industry. Independent dealers interested in joining the revolution can sign up for early access and be among the first to experience the future of car sales.
For more information or to join the waiting list, please visit MotorSales.ai's website.
