Drag Ona was named Drag Queen of 2025 in Torrevieja

Drag Ona

This past Saturday, the sixteenth National Drag Queen Competition took place at the Torrevieja International Auditorium. This is one of the most-anticipated events of the Torrevieja Carnival, which has been named an Autonomous Tourist Interest. The tickets to this gala had been sold out for days because everyone didn’t want to miss it. A show with lots of fun, colour, and freedom that made everyone happy, including the people who were performing. DJ Richi Underground livened up the photocall set up at the entrance to the Auditorium before the competition even started. This was where the public and competitors could share their thoughts and worries before the big moment.

There were many important people there, like Rosario Martínez, who is the Councillor for Festivals; Mireya Ferrández, Pablo Hernández, and Lucia Martínez, who are the Kings of Carnival 2025; the Corte Salinera; and María José Ruiz, who is the Councillor for Urban Cleaning and Waste Management. Diego Pizana, who is the head of the Cultural Association Carnival of Torrevieja, also made it to the event.

At the Gala, the six performers gave it their all on stage and put on shows that people will remember. “La Plexy” stood out because, as she always does, she actually won over the audience with her sometimes sassy and sometimes “tactical” humour, which made everyone feel like they were a part of a reality show as intense as this competition. Following the acts, the winner of this event was declared. A high-level jury made up of Violette Carson, Iván Carrocha, Adrián Ballester, and Paca “La Piraña,” who was president, was in charge of this.

Bella Vampi gave a great show.
There is a trained actress named La Bella Vampi who has directed a number of plays. But recently, she’s become more well-known after being a finalist on the last season of Drag Race Spain. This gave her the chance to dance around Spain singing her cuplés. Since she was five years old, she has been a drag queen at different venues, parties, and events all over Spain. Her main goal is to bring drag to the stage so that people don’t think of it as something silly, fun, or light-hearted. It’s what La Bella Vampi calls herself: a cupletista, vedette, and revue act.

Police in Alicante seize 1,300 kilos of cocaine from two trucks

National Police Drugs

Two large vehicles carrying 1,300 kilos of cocaine were intercepted by agents from the Drug and Organised Crime Unit (UDYCO) of the National Police in Alicante. The French Customs and the Central Investigation Office of the Polish Police provided support to the investigation, which was conducted by the Alicante Police Station in collaboration with the Catalonia Headquarters and coordinated by Europol.

According to sources from the investigation, these vehicles were intercepted at a service station in France and in an area near Barcelona after travelling through the province of Alicante. The operation has led to the interception of over one tonne of narcotics that were intended for several European countries.

The events occurred on March 16th when French authorities discovered a large vehicle with Polish registration at a service station in France, en route to Lyon. 800 kilogrammes of cocaine were discovered concealed within aluminium materials during the inspection of this vehicle. The coordination mechanisms between countries were immediately activated through Europol, and the driver was arrested for an alleged offence against public health.

Cooperation was established with the Central Investigation Office of the Police, specifically with the department in Rzeszów, following the discovery of the first vehicle. This collaboration resulted in the discovery of a second truck near Barcelona.

The National Police discovered an additional 500 kilogrammes of cocaine, this time concealed among porcelain construction materials, as a result of their collaboration with the Polish side. The National Police’s Special Security Operations Group (GOES) provided assistance to the investigators in the transportation of the narcotics.
