The new way to order taxis in Elche

Residents of Elche may now use WhatsApp to book a taxi. This service is already provided by Radio Taxi, the biggest company in Elche that aggregates a sizable number of these cars. The goal is to make this process as simple as possible while also giving the consumer better service.
José Javier López, president of Radio Taxi, says, “It is a new alternative for users in Elche.” He notes that the service has been in operation since March 1st and has gotten positive feedback.
Waiting less
This new feature, which aims to reduce the congestion of the Radio Taxi switchboard and ensure that those who call to order a taxi have to wait less to be served, is in addition to the options of calling or ordering through the application (where the user must register their data), among other benefits.
Hiring a taxi in Elche is made simpler with this third choice. To find out how long it will take for their taxi to come and the number of the car that will pick them up, the user only needs to add the phone number 965 427 777 to their contact list. Then, they may send a message via WhatsApp. Furthermore, they can also show whether taxis are now unavailable.
A bot with artificial intelligence
An artificial intelligence bot—which even has a memory—makes all of this possible. For instance, if you have repeatedly asked a taxi to pick you up on a particular street, the bot will recognise that your address is there and will even ask if you would like the taxi to pick you up on the street that has been specified as the beginning of the journey on previous occasions.
Since some cab orders are now being made over WhatsApp, the telephone switchboard at Radio cab is recording fewer call failures, which is another internal result of this improvement in customer service. To put it another way, everyone waits less because there is more call screening.
Tasks
Between 600 and 750 cab calls are often made in Elche each day. This is in the winter, as the workload is indicative of the fact that the figure ranges from 1,000 to 1,200 in the summer. Additionally, depending on whether there are events, weddings, or functions, demand is higher on weekends than it is Monday through Friday.
With the goal of continuously enhancing its service, quality, and drive for innovation, Radio Taxi is currently launching its new WhatsApp service and soon intends to expand social networks even more.

Arrested for violating restraining order and threatening the police

A man was taken into custody by the Meliana Local Police on Monday morning, March 24th, for violating a restraining order after being informed that a couple was having a heated quarrel outside a town’s restaurant. The officers showed up right away, and after stopping the taxi he was attempting to take to get out, they were able to confirm that the man had a restraining order against the victim for a crime of abuse from Benidorm’s Court of Instruction No. 3 when they asked for background information.
With the help of Tavernes Blanques members of the Guardia Civil, the officers went ahead and arrested him. Even threatening to kill the police in action, the detainee put up a fierce fight. He has already been taken before the courts and the relevant police procedures have been completed.

Cold water to fight the heat on Benidorm’s streets

Three places across the municipality now have chilled drinking water fountains installed by Benidorm City Council. The City Council and Hidraqua, the city’s Integrated Water Cycle concessionaire, are working together on this project as part of a trial project. “Facilitate the availability of tap water to residents and tourists in highly frequented public spaces,” Mayor Toni Pérez said yesterday, Monday 24th March, when describing the project’s objectives.
Together with José Ramón González de Zárate, the councillor for water cycle, local government representatives, and business representatives, the mayor paid a visit to the first of these installed fountains. Since last year, the service has been offered in Alicante, and on Monday, three further fountains were unveiled at l’Alfàs del Pi.
Two more fountains will be placed this week in Séquia Mare Park and Plaza del Torrejó, which is opposite to the Tourist Office. The first fountain in Benidorm is situated on Avenida Armada Española at its intersection with Avenida Racharell. Connected to the municipal drinking water supply network, the three chilled drinking water fountains are designed to provide households with water.
Toni Pérez pointed out that the campaign “promotes the consumption of tap water as a safe and healthy option and, at the same time, reduces the generation of plastic waste associated with single-use water bottles.” The mayor further underlined that doing so “reduces the environmental impact and contributes to building a more sustainable future.”
The pumps in question include a cooling system to give users cold water, and they are directly fed from the municipal drinking water network. They have a drain exit to remove extra water and an electrical connection to run the cooling system. Additionally, they are constructed from materials that are resistant to weather and vandalism and are created to be accessible to those with limited mobility.
