Elche jihadists arrested

Elche jihadist arrest

The four young people detained in Elche in December were admirers of the most ruthless jihadists, played violent video games from Al-Qaeda and ISIS, and left behind manuscripts that explicitly discussed “killing Christians.” They were prepared to take a decisive step in their radicalism, but their detention by the police stopped them. The suspects stated that they wanted to name the explosive device the “Mother of Satan,” which was used by the young terrorist cell that carried out the 2017 attacks on Barcelona and Cambrils.

On November 28th, 2024, two of the four minors arrested had a chat about the explosive triacetone triperoxide (TATP), according to counterterrorism effort sources who spoke to El Confidencial. This substance is frequently utilised by jihadist terrorist organisations and is referred to as “the mother of Satan” due to its destructive effects. Investigations by the General Information Commissariat (CGI) of the National Police have shown that the communication covered the desire to acquire the components required to manufacture the explosive.

Extremist pro-jihadist online groups frequently honour past terrorists who used this explosive in their assaults and provide information on how to create TATP. These terrorist groups’ official media also frequently provides guides to persuade any would-be jihadist to conduct out acts in their nations. “Mother of Satan” is extremely sensitive, but it doesn’t require a lot of advanced infrastructure. In the summer of 2017, it was the bomb that the Ripoll jihadists were producing in the Alcanar home on Imam Es Satty’s orders. An unintentional explosion derailed the original plan to use the bomb for a large-scale attack on a famous Barcelona structure, such as the Sagrada Familia. Instead, they chose to launch a deadly mass attack on La Rambla.

This publication claims that the four Elche adolescents were taken into custody by the National Police in mid-December, only a few weeks after the explosives discussion that set off the counterterrorism experts’ alarms. Even at the risk of earning lighter court punishments, security agencies have long depended on preemptive measures like these before it’s too late. According to the sources consulted, there was concern that the Basilica of Santa María in the town of Alicante might be attacked by this self-indoctrinated cell.

The children are alleged to have self-indoctrinated terrorists. On some of their Facebook and TikTok profiles, they left behind signs of their growth. They uploaded terrorist organisations’ propaganda. A handcrafted collage of articles about John the Jihadi, a charismatic member of the British-born terrorist group DAESH, who is well-known for appearing in graphic execution films, was discovered among the possessions of one of the individuals when the officers searched their homes. Additionally, a notebook contained handwritten writings with references to jihad that called for the murder of Christians and unbelievers. This young terrorist group was composed of minors, and the National Police were able to identify how they discussed their plans with a strong radical bent by intercepting their conversations. One of the inmates’ defence lawyers tried to minimise these exchanges by claiming in his appeal that they were “nothing more than conversations between teenagers.”

He also said it was typical for the captives to watch violent extremist films. He said that “viewing images is normal considering the content of video games on the market.” Supporters of jihadist organisations have created online personas and games featuring terrorist insignia, such as the one depicted in this article, in recent years. Experts in the battle against this phenomena caution that it is just another recruitment tactic.

In attempt to persuade the court to release him because there was no flight danger, one of the people detained in Elche also stated that he lived a peaceful life with his parents. His case shows that there are no distinct characteristics among the young people who are being looked into for jihadist terrorism, as seen by his strong high school scores. At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, the four were sent from Elche to Madrid, especially to the Teresa de Calcuta juvenile centre.

In the next five years, air taxis will become a reality in Europe

Benidorm Air Taxi

Israel Quintanilla, the coordinator of the U-ELCOME project in the Valencian Community and a professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Valencia (UPV), explains in ‘A Vivir Comunitat Valenciana’ that the recent demonstration in Benidorm was a complete success, demonstrating the significant progress that has been made in this field in recent years. The airspace of Benidorm was traversed by twelve drones, including the largest one, which were still unattended and were monitored and supervised by digital platforms from the European unattended Aerial Space Management System (U-space).

According to Quintanilla, Spain, France, and Italy are all involved in this initiative, which is “three years in advance, has a budget of 15 million, and is designed to ensure the safe integration of drones into urban environments.” The UPV is a trailblazer in this sector.

When asked when the air taxi, a compact, electric craft that weighs 600 kg and can accommodate two crew members weighing up to 200 kg, will be available as an integrated vehicle, it is a reality in China and Europe, despite its appearance as science fiction: “Approximately five years.”

According to Quintanilla, “Julio Verne once said that whatever a man is capable of imagining, another is capable of carrying out, and that is precisely what we are witnessing; evolution is exponential.”

The military is the source of drone technology, as it was with satellites and GPS systems. “Civilian society is the recipient of prior military validation.” This expert elucidates that any drone, priced at 500 euros, is currently stable and secure in the air. They are employed for electrical inspections of towers, to monitor wind turbine blades, and in the DANA (diario en salvamento marítimo), as well as in maritime rescue, the Civil Guard, the UME (Union of Military Units), and local police. Additionally, they are already integrated into the daily operations of state security forces.

Vespas take to the road to raise awareness about a neglected disease

Costa Blanca Scooters

The scooter is once more serving as a catalyst for charitable endeavours. The Scooter Rider Costa Blanca will commence in Alcoy on Saturday, March 29th. This event will traverse the heart of Alicante, from the inland to the coast, and will showcase classic Vespas and Lambrettas, all in an effort to increase awareness of a disease that is largely obscure to the general public.

The fourth incarnation of the Scooter Rider Costa Blanca will feature over 140 motorcycles of all colours, brought from various regions of Spain and even Europe, as they ride in large numbers to raise awareness of the reality experienced by individuals with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

The solidarity route spans 150 kilometres between the mountains and the coast, passing through ravines, emblematic harbours, dream roads, and iconic beaches. It is free of charge.

Approximately 70 individuals, or 50% of the event participants, are anticipated to arrive in Alcoy on Friday, March 28th, and will be allocated to the city’s numerous accommodations. They are from the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, the Valencian Community, Madrid, Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Catalonia.

Jordi Linares, the event’s creator, emphasises the significance of the participation of colleagues from Vespa Club Poland, who have strategically scheduled their visit to Spain to attend this event, as well as other colleagues from various nationalities, including France, Italy, and Argentina.

The 140 motorcycles will depart from Plaza de España in Alcoy on Saturday, the 29th. The group will commence a charity route at 10:00 a.m. and will visit iconic locations along the Costa Blanca, such as Alcoy, Barranc de la Batalla, Puerto de la Carrasqueta, Torre de les Maçanes, Relleu, and Finestrat.

The Benidorm Local Police will be present to provide them with a triumphant tour of Levante Beach. The entire group is expected to assemble at Terra Natura Benidorm at 2:30 p.m., where they have been actively participating in the charity event from the outset.

Many local Vespitas will return to their homes in Valencia, Altea, Benidorm, Elche, Alicante, and other cities after lunch and a visit to Terra Natura Park. The main group will return to Alcoy, where they are expected to appear at Plaza de España at 6 p.m.

The organisation of small subgroups or “squads” on the road is one of the event’s distinctive features. “In order to prevent the disruption of regular road traffic, participants will be divided into five groups, each with its own group leader and logistical support. This will foster a sense of community and friendship as they ride towards a common objective,” the organisers explain.

“In order to ensure that no one is excluded from future editions, we will raise a modest sum of money and expand the event to a wider audience next year,” declares Jordi Linares.

Our primary goal is to increase awareness and provide financial support for research on this debilitating, degenerative disease that impacts all organs in the body and manifests over 200 symptoms.

“The condition is akin to Alzheimer’s disease, which was unknown 30 years ago, and was treated as if it were a mental illness.” Linares laments, “They even administered electric shocks to the patients’ heads, as was previously done.”
