Palacio de la Musica
Description
The Palacio de la Musica in Torrevieja is located in the centre of the town, and is a small auditorium where the primary focus, as you might guess from the name of the venue, is music.
The venue was inaugurated in 1999, the work of architects Alberto Velázquez and José Domínguez Rozas, and is set on three floors, the main floor being the auditorium, a basement below, featuring a small café, and an upper floor, the balcony.
The building itself is designed with a mixture of wood and metal, to echo the sections of an orchestra, whereas the stairs resemble the keys of a piano, supported by a curved handrail to represent the waves of musical writing.
