Paseo Juan Aparicio Bathing Areas
Description
The Juan Aparicio promenade, Paseo Juan Aparicio, was remodelled by the architect Carmen Pinós between 1996 and 1999, carrying out a treatment of the maritime edge to protect the coast from the waves through the construction of breakwaters that, in addition, make up shallow bathing areas with platforms for sunbathing.
The traditional rocky sections of this area of Torrevieja (popularly known as 'Las Rocas') are preserved and integrated into the promenade, where stairs have been installed to facilitate access to and exit from the sea.
It is a widely used bathing area due to its geographical location in the heart of the city, which combines large terraces and restaurants and shops, with the large area for public use that constitutes the promenade itself and the different bathing areas.
