Playa del Cura

Playa del Cura
Playa del Cura

Description

Playa del Cura, or priest’s beach, is one of the most popular in Torrevieja due to its special location in the heart of the town centre.

It’s not a huge beach though, so given the popularity, it can be very busy at peak times.

It is located by punta Margallo, and with the existing bathing areas along the nearby Juan Aparicio promenade.

Because of the location, Playa del Cura hosts a variety of activities throughout the summer, including the 'Habaneras en la playa' concert, a particularly noteworthy prelude to the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest.

It has hammocks and umbrellas, recreational water sports, and restaurant services are provided by the different establishments on the seafront.

This beach also has a specific bathing area for people with reduced mobility, with bathing assistance, in such a way that entry, stay and exit to the sea is facilitated, including elements such as amphibious chairs. This service is only provided during the months of July and August and when the green flag is waving.
