Food poisoning at Alicante bar leaves six people hospitalised

Seven individuals in Alicante have contracted food poisoning as a result of consuming spoilt food at a bar located in the city centre. According to the Ministry of Health, six of them required hospitalisation. To resolve this issue, the Alicante Public Health Centre implemented epidemiological surveillance.

The health department conducted an inspection of the afflicted establishment following the detection of the outbreak and subsequently decided to temporarily close it. Nevertheless, the business has reopened, as per official sources, following a comprehensive cleansing and disinfection of equipment and surfaces.

On March 31st, this incident was reported, and all patients were discharged as a result of clinical improvement. However, the severe effects of the poisoning hospitalised one of the patients for nearly a month.

This individual encountered symptoms, including diarrhoea with faecal incontinence, sepsis during the initial hours of hospitalisation, and skin loss on the face, limbs, and body as a result of dehydration.

La Hoya link road finally opens

The link road between the CV905 in Torrevieja and Av. Asociación Victimas del Terrorismo finally opened on Friday, April 25th.

Although the road, originally scheduled to open in early June last year, has greatly relieved road users, it is currently causing confusion due to incorrectly signposted roads and a lack of signposts. Many motorists were seen driving confusingly around the roundabout closest to the N332 bridge by Av. Asociación Victimas del Terrorismo, unaware of how to continue on their way.

A man has been sentenced to three years in prison by the Provincial Court of Murcia,
and five years of probation who confessed in court that he sexually assaulted his adopted daughter, a minor, on two separate occasions.

taking advantage of his mother’s drowsiness to secure a remedy from a doctor.

It also imposes him as the perpetrator of a continuous crime of sexual aggression by removing the girl 300 metres for a period of eight years. Additionally, it disqualifies him from engaging in any profession that involves contact with minors for the same period. The victim will receive 20,000 euros in compensation, which he had already paid before the trial. This has resulted in the application of the highly qualified mitigating circumstance to repair the damages caused.

The minor was required to endure psychological treatment because of two attacks that occurred in 2019. The first attack occurred at the summer residence outside the Region of Murcia, while the second occurred in the family home in a town within the autonomous region.
