SUMMARY:Una Boutique en la Florida in Almoradi
DESCRIPTION:Una boutique en la Florida is a contemporary social comedy by the renowned playwright Paco Sanguino. It is being performed by a company El Club de la Serpiente as part of their 30th anniversary tour \nWhat is the play about? \nThe play is set in a neighbourhood haberdashery and follows a group of five women who live in a nearby neighbourhood. \nThe plot revolves around their “Quixtotic.” Plan to improve their community\, particularly their fight to install lifts in their ageing neighbourhood to assist the elderly residents. \nTheme: It pays tribute to the matriarchy of working-class neighbourhoods\, the grandmothers\, mothers\, and aunts who keep communities together when official assistance is limited. \nThe Tone: While it deals with serious social issues such as isolation and ageing\, it is primarily a comedy. It’s described as having a sharp ‘stinging’ humour that relies on the strong\, relatable chemistry of the female cast.
