The licence of an Alicante motorist who was caught was revoked five times in four years

Santa Pola Local Police

According to the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), driving a car after all the points have been taken off your licence is a highly serious crime that carries both administrative and criminal penalties. In addition to having to complete a 24-hour road safety awareness and re-education course, the authorities state that if they stop a driver with no points on his licence, his vehicle will be seized and he will be fined.

When a driver was stopped by the local police while passing through Santa Pola, this is what happened to him. The agents found, after conducting the necessary investigations, that the suspect had gotten his driver’s license less than five years prior and had already experienced five suspensions and withdrawals: “A record,” according to the municipal body.

Losing your driver’s license can happen in a number of ways. For instance, following the commission of a serious enough offence to be classified as a crime against road safety. If you are pulled over at a checkpoint and have a blood alcohol content of, say, 0.60 mg/l, you may be guilty of this kind of violation.

The consequence that led to the revocation of your driver’s license is final. This implies that you can keep using your vehicle until your appeal is accepted or denied if you have chosen to file one.

If you speed, you risk losing your licence as well. Driving more than 60 km/h in a city or more than 80 km/h on interurban roads can result in a one to four-year licence suspension and a three to six-month jail sentence, which can be substituted with 31 to 90 days of community service.

Another infraction that may result in the loss of a driving licence is reckless driving. According to article 380 of the Criminal Code, the withdrawal in this instance would be for a duration of one to six years, and a potential prison sentence of six months to two years would also be applicable.

It is not even worth saying that driving too quickly or when impaired by drugs or alcohol might kill a pedestrian or another motorist. The punishment in this instance is a prison sentence of one to four years and suspension for one to six years. In severe situations where the accident results in multiple fatalities, aggravating circumstances may also result in a licence suspension of nine to thirteen years, with six to nine-year jail sentences.

Your licence may be revoked by the DGT once the sanction that led to it is final. This implies that you can keep driving your car if you have chosen to file an appeal until it is approved or denied.

The Provincial Traffic Department will let you know if the license is rejected, and you will need to turn in your driver’s license there as well. As soon as you receive the message, you will no longer be permitted to drive. The licence removal takes effect as soon as the licence is turned in to the court if it is the consequence of a criminal procedure.

Elche photographer arrested for sexually assaulting two women in his studio

National Police Alicante Arrest

A 60-year-old man in Elche has been arrested by the National Police for two separate sexual assaults in the last two weeks. The man was pretending to be a photographer for a report, but a 25-year-old woman there claimed that he intended to capture naked pictures of her, which would lead to sexual assault with penetration without her consent.

Officers found out after his detention that he had been detained two weeks prior for similar charges. He had even received a restraining order and been prohibited from leaving the country for assaulting a disabled woman again.

He persuaded her to shoot naked pictures

The complaint claims that the woman asked the photographer to do a photo session. He convinced her to sign a document giving him permission to take naked pictures of her at the signing ceremony. The suspect claimed it was because of her height that it was hard for her to be a model and that it was better to photograph her naked.

The man touched various body parts on the model while she posed for shots, he even took images of her intimate areas. He then pulled down his pants and stabbed her with his fingers.

The woman made it plain she wasn’t going to strip when she went on a second shoot. The complaint claims that the man attempted to reenact the first date scene, but she fled right away and came back with a friend worried he could have a recording camera in the studio. She requested that he remove any pictures he may have of her during that stay.

Arrested two weeks earlier

The woman went to the police station with a lawyer and filed a handwritten complaint. Officers then learnt that the man had previously been taken into custody for assaulting a disabled young woman in his studio, even attempting penetration.

Police detained the man at the studio as a result of both instances, and they also confiscated mobile phones, laptops, tablets, desktops, and other gadgets. The 60-year-old guy was charged with sexual assault and brought before a judge.

Hospitality and recreation establishments in Elche receive 36 infringement reports from local police

The Elche Local Police conducted an operation that involved inspecting thirteen hospitality and leisure outlets in various neighbourhoods, resulting in one arrest and 36 violations. The data was made public on Friday, 28th March, mainly as a reminder of the work that is being done. Councilman Juan de Dios Navarro gave the police top for their efforts.

According to local police inspector José Antonio Corrales, the majority of the infractions included drug usage and possession, including four for cocaine possession and seven for hashish, as well as improper company documentation. Additionally, there were two reports for disturbing the peace or disrespecting law enforcement, four for not following the minimum hygienic standards for food storage, one serious infraction for conducting the activity after hours and behind closed doors, and seven for irregularities found on the property, including improper documentation.

Additionally, officers found six infractions for permitting smoking in unapproved indoor locations, three for type “B” slot machine identification guide deficiencies, and one major infraction for emergency escape and door flaws. Additionally, a report was made about the selling of illegal tobacco at a pub, where 20 packets were confiscated and one individual was detained on court order and imprisoned.

Visitor to Catral cemetery locked inside

Catral Local Police Cemetery

As nightfall approached on one of these soggy spring days in March, a young man decided it would be a good idea to visit a cousin or acquaintance’s grave and take a walk through the cemetery. Because the cemetery still closes its (automatic) gates at six o’clock at this time of year, but without the winter gloom that may discourage anyone from going.

However, the door was locked when he attempted to exit. The visitor didn’t seem to want to spend any more time among the cemeteries, despite the cemetery’s reputation as a particularly tranquil spot. Unaware of the placard bearing the mobile phone number for anyone needing help, he dashed out the gate. It was all on camera.

Joaquín Lucas, the mayor of Catral, maintains that this occurrence is unrelated to the privatisation of the cemetery works and feels that management by an outside company is an efficient approach to provide this service in a municipal office. He went on to say that the young man who who was locked in is from the nearby municipality of Dolores rather than Catral.

The local police took to social media and atacked the man’s “reckless” behaviour. He has been named in connection with “criminal proceedings for a crime against another’s property.” Nonetheless, the business will be liable for any damages brought on by the damaged door anchors.

In addition to clarifying that the business employs two workers—a gravedigger and a labourer who maintains the communal areas and restrooms—the Councillor for Services, Daniel Escudero, reaffirmed that the automatic door is an option offered by the company itself.
