Rossmann, a German drugstore with nearly 66,000 employees, nearly 5,000 shops in nine European countries, and record revenues of over €15 billion in 2024, is doubling its presence in Torrevieja to further solidify its dedication to the Costa Blanca. The second shop in Torrevieja will be open tomorrow, Friday April 11th, and will be providing opening discounts throughout the week.

The multinational has selected the store at centro comercial Las Salinas, on avenida Tirso de Molina 2. Rossmann’s extensive assortment is distinguished by its competitive prices and broad variety, which is complemented by a 400 m² sales area and outdoor parking spaces.

The company will been offering substantial discounts for the entire week, beginning on Friday, as a gesture of goodwill. These discounts include a 10% discount on the entire assortment and an additional 20% off cosmetics, in addition to exceptional deals on a wide range of products. Additionally, promotions are associated with the store’s arrival in Torrevieja. On Saturday, the April 12th, customers who make a minimum purchase of 25 euros will receive complimentary currywurst and beverages from the food truck that is affixed to the store. The University of Alicante (UA) has joined the “ODSesiones” project, which is being promoted by the University of Murcia. In San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia), a woman was arrested for the intentional death of her ex-boyfriend by driving over him with a vehicle. The Guardia Civil reported an ongoing case of domestic violence between the two individuals, yet no legal action ensued.

On Wednesday afternoon, April 9th, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the alarm was raised due to the fact that a man was incapacitated after being struck by a vehicle on a busy road that connects the town centre with Pilar de la Horadada del Mojón (Alicante).

Emergency services and local law enforcement responded to the incident. The individual was already deceased when the paramedics arrived, and they were unable to save his life.

Initially, the woman, the victim’s ex-partner, was detained at the San Pedro Comprehensive Security Centre due to the abundant evidence that indicated an intentional hit-and-run.

Subsequently, the Guardia Civil was assigned the case, and the perpetrator was arrested at 4:30 p.m. for the offence of homicide.

The Civil Guard is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
