Benidorm, police catch man with 600 marijuana plants in his car

A 49-year-old man was caught in Benidorm by the National Police for transporting marijuana plants and other supplies needed for their growth in his own car. A crime against public health has been charged against the man who was caught.
The man was arrested as the last step in an investigation that began when the National Police learnt about his activities in the province of Alicante, which included moving drugs (mostly marijuana) and building infrastructure for future hydroponic crops.
In the beginning, police focused on finding the man and his car. After making sure of both of these things, investigators did a number of surveillance and monitoring operations to confirm how he worked. It was proven that the suspect was carrying drugs and the nutrients needed to grow marijuana hydroponically in people’s houses in the province of Alicante as they drove.
Last but not least, the arrest happened after one of the operations to spy on and track one of the trucks.
When he was arrested, his car was checked, and police found 600 marijuana cuttings, €1,500, two mobile phones, and thirteen five-litre drums of fertiliser and plant growth nutrients.
The arrested man was given to the Benidorm Investigative Court after the police looked into the case.

Swift Arrest of Dutch Fugitive in Benidorm

A 28-year-old Dutch fugitive who was hiding in Benidorm was identified by his evasive conduct. A man in the Marina municipality has been apprehended by National Police officers. The man was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant for Extradition (EAW) issued by the Dutch authorities.
The crime of illegally possessing a firearm in 2024 led to this individual’s nine-month imprisonment. In mid-April, the fugitive fled to Spain after failing to comply with the sentence. The requesting country issued a European Arrest Warrant, with four months remaining.
The fugitive was apprehended by officers from the Benidorm Citizen Security Brigade after they identified him as acting evasively in their presence and verified that he had a European arrest warrant issued.
In January 2024, the detainee was apprehended by the Dutch police while carrying a short firearm without a valid licence. As a result, he was sentenced to three years in pre-sentence prison for the actions he committed.

Two helicopter rescues in a single morning of two injured climbers in the Muela and Orihuela mountain ranges

On the first day of May, firefighters rescued a man who was ascending the Black Wall on the Piti Route in the Sierra de la Muela in Orihuela.
The officers responded to the call at 10:17 a.m. on Thursday and provided assistance to a man who had been struck, resulting in facial injuries and leg discomfort that impeded his ability to continue his ascent.
The Provincial Consortium dispatched a rescue helicopter, which landed to enable the rescuers to administer treatment. A crane was employed to lift the injured man to the ground and convey him to the Vega Baja Hospital helipad after the helicopter was re-entered the air. At 2:11 p.m., the operation concluded four hours later.
In the meantime, at 1:11 p.m., another request was received to rescue a woman in the Pared de Ana climbing area, which is located near the Bonanza pine forest in the Sierra de Orihuela. The woman sustained injuries such as a pneumothorax, a fractured scapula, ribs, tibia, and fibula after being left hanging approximately 150 metres high as a result of rockfalls. She also struck the wall. At 3:47 p.m., she was also evacuated to the helipad of the regional hospital.
