Business networking expert joins as keynote speaker for 27th annual SPG conference 2024

Stefan Thomas, the acclaimed author of the books Business Networking for Dummies and Win the Room and a distinguished professional speaker, will be the keynote speaker at the 27th Annual The Solicitors Sole Practitioners Group Conference, this year taking place in Turkiye.

Stefan, based in Oxfordshire, has extensive experience in speaking and training; Stefan has captivated audiences for leading companies such as BT, Lloyds Bank, and Utility Warehouse across Europe.

Not-for-profit organisation the Solicitors Sole Practitioners Group (SPG), established in 1982, is dedicated to providing professional support, training, and regulatory representation for all sole practitioner solicitors in England and Wales. Representing more than 5,000 solicitors, SPG ensures that the voices of sole practitioners are heard by regulatory bodies, counterbalancing the influence of larger firms.

With sole practitioner firms comprising over one-third of all solicitor firms in the UK, the SPG Conference 2024 plays a pivotal role in advancing practices and nurturing professional connections.

The conference will focus on practical solutions and support for sole practitioner solicitors facing the unique challenges of today’s legal landscape. The theme ‘Easing the burden’ was carefully selected by Sukhjit Ahluwalia, head of marketing and conference organiser for SPG, after consultation with members to discover the burning issues in today’s climate.

Stefan’s keynote will centre on business networking, offering efficient strategies to make networking less daunting and significantly more productive for business growth.

Stefan shared his excitement about the upcoming event: "I'm thrilled to be speaking at the SPG Conference in Turkey. Networking can often feel overwhelming, but with the right strategies, it can become one of the most powerful tools for business growth.

"I'm looking forward to sharing these insights with the attendees and helping them ‘ease the burden’ of networking through my keynote speech. I'll be leading a workshop the following day to further delve into these strategies."

Sukhjit, who has served as the head of marketing for SPG since 2016, organises two conferences annually for the members. Stefan was recommended as a speaker by an SPG executive member, and Sukhjit is looking forward to hearing him in person.

"We're looking forward to Stefan’s keynote speech on the first day of the conference. His approach will entertain and engage delegates while bringing a light-hearted twist to a serious message, ensuring attendees get the most out of our event," said Sukhjit.

"With many sole practitioners feeling the pressure of the cost of living crisis and a challenging market, Stefan’s keynote is more relevant than ever," Sukhjit added.

The SPG Conference 2024 is taking place from Wednesday 26 June to Tuesday 2 July at The Hilton Bomonti Hotel & Conference Centre in Istanbul.
