Ford’s Almussafes Plant In Valencia To Cut 1,622 Jobs In Latest Restructuring Move

Ford’s factory in Almussafes, Valencia, has announced a significant number of job losses following the approval of wide range of redundencies.

1,622 jobs – around 35 percent of its workforce – is to be shed in an effort to reduce excess staffing numbers and the plant moves to new vehicle types.

Just under a thousand of those roles are set to be re-advertised in 2027, when new vehicle production comes online at the plant.

This is the fourth round of redundancies at the plant since 2018, with unions set to meet with heads of business in the coming weeks to negotiate an exit package for those affected.
