As a die-hard Ed Sheeran fan, I’ve spent years singing along to his albums, watching his performances online, and dreaming of the day when I’d be able to see him live. That dream came true this year, and it exceeded my expectations.
After months of anticipation, my partner and I travelled from the Costa Blanca to Madrid in a custom-made Ed t-shirts I made for us both to see him perform as part of his 2025 tour. As we approached the stadium, there was an unmistakable buzz in the air. Ed was in town, as were thousands of enthusiastic fans from across Spain (and beyond).

The atmosphere was electric. The atmosphere changed the moment Ed stepped onto the stage, carrying only his guitar and a loop pedal. He had us all singing, dancing, crying, and swaying with our phone torches lit up as he played a perfectly crafted setlist of old favourites and newer hits.
There were simply too many highlights to choose just one. “Perfect” had couples embracing and wiping away tears, and a couple near us got engaged! “Thinking Out Loud” transformed the stadium into a huge romantic scene. And when he began singing “Shape of You” and his brand new single “Azizam,” the entire venue transformed into one giant party under the stars in Madrid.
What makes Ed Sheeran so special live is not just his voice but also his raw honesty, humility, and ability to make a crowd of thousands feel intimate and personal. He joked that he didn’t need a big band or flashy visuals. Only him, his loop station, and us. And that’s all it took.

It was a pleasure to travel up to the capital for a night that reminded me of how powerful live music can be. And that’s why I enjoy performing so much; there’s something truly unforgettable about seeing your favourite artist in your home country. On the way home, we listened to Ed’s song and reflected on the most magical night.
That night wasn’t just a concert. It was a reminder of why we fall in love with music in the first place.

If you were fortunate enough to be present that night in Madrid, I hope this recaptured some of the magic. The music, atmosphere, and shared joy created an unforgettable night. There’s something truly special about witnessing 10,000 strangers unite to form a single voice. I highly recommend seeing a live performance at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium. The venue was exceptionally well-organised, spacious, and surprisingly intimate for such a large area. It enhanced the magic rather than simply preserving it. Whether it was your first or fifth Ed Sheeran concert, I hope the memories are still playing in your head—as they are in mine as I type this.
