These adorable and delicious peanut butter cookies can be transformed into festive reindeer with a few simple decorations. They’re ideal for holiday parties or a relaxing evening at home with a mug of hot chocolate. Get the kids involved for more fun!

Ingredients

1 cup or 2 sticks of unsalted butter, softened

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

For Decoration:

small mini pretzels for antlers

Red M&M's for noses

Small sweet eyes or mini chocolate chips for eyes

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat the eggs in one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.

In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet, mixing until just combined and a soft dough forms.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place them approximately 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centres may still appear soft, but they will firm up as they cool.

As soon as the cookies are out of the oven and still warm and soft, gently press two mini pretzels into the top of each cookie to form antlers. For a reindeer's nose, place a red M&M below the pretzels, followed by two sweet eyes or mini chocolate chips above the nose.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling completely.
