The Costa Blanca is bracing for a day of extreme weather. Moderate forecasts, combined with an orange warning for an incoming storm system, have prompted significant precautions across the region, including school closures.
We are currently under a severe weather alert, with a high chance of heavy thunderstorms and torrential rain. The forecast predicts a 70% chance of rain throughout the day, with conditions worsening and the possibility of localised flooding. Temperatures will remain warm, with a high of 27 degrees, but humidity will be very high at 76%, making it feel muggy, similar to the previous days. A strong eastern wind, gusting up to 8 mph, will exacerbate the blustery conditions.

Given the severity of the upcoming storm, local authorities have taken the precaution of closing schools to ensure the safety of students and staff. Residents should stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel, as well as take precautions to protect their property from flooding.
The storm is expected to ease into the night, with a 20% chance of rain and mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will fall as low as 22 degrees.
Looking ahead, the good news is that this storm is expected to pass quickly. The forecast for Wednesday is much more promising, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 33 degrees. The remainder of the week is expected to be clear and warm, with the usual Costa Blanca sunshine returning. Stay safe, and we will provide updates as the situation progresses.
