The Costa Blanca is more than just spectral ghouls and spooky nights this Halloween; it’s a colourful mosaic of classic Spanish charm, autumn treats and, of course, lots of spooky fun for kids and adults! Since today is Halloween, there are many events going on in the area. Let’s take a look at what’s going on and how you can make the most of this weekend.
Towns and cities all over the Costa Blanca are enthusiastically embracing the Halloween spirit. There are plenty of ways to celebrate, from family-friendly frights to streets that are lavishly decorated.

- Trick-or-treating Extravaganza: Children in costumes will knock on doors in many residential areas and urban areas to get sweets. Look for homes that have been decorated and neighbourhood associations setting up secure routes for trick-or-treating.
- Town Square Transformations: Popular resorts such as Benidorm, Torrevieja, and Javea will adorn their town squares with pumpkins, cobwebs, and spooky characters. Often, these areas host free events for children, including costume contests, face painting, and lively entertainment.
- Bar and Restaurant Bashes: This evening, a number of venues are throwing themed parties. In locations like Alicante, Denia, and Altea, keep an eye out for unique Halloween menus, spooky cocktails, and live music or DJ sets. Some may even give away prizes for the best costumes!

Featured Weekend Events on the Costa Blanca
This weekend, the Costa Blanca is a hive of festivities, with two main events—a huge parade and a traditional festival—offering contrasting experiences for people of all ages.
The Big Spook: Torrevieja’s Zombie Experience and Grand Halloween Parade: Expect a huge, exciting procession through the city centre tonight, complete with music, intricate floats, hundreds of costumed participants, and ominous characters. Because of its scope and community involvement, this is a must-see. starting at 7:30 p.m. and running through Ramon Gallud Street. Torrevieja is also hosting a late-night “zombie experience.” This immersive, real-life survival game and urban route, full of thrills and adrenaline, will begin at 11:00 p.m. from Plaza de Encarnacion Puchol in La Mata as a bonus event for the truly courageous adults over the age of 18.
The Traditional Fright: Denia’s Night of Souls Urb Horror Route (Friday, Oct 31st)
Denia, on the Northern Costa Blanca, provides a more atmospheric and culturally rich event that combines contemporary horror with traditional Valencian customs:
La Nit de les Animes (The Night of Souls) The protagonist is on an urban horror route that meanders through the city centre’s historic streets and alleyways. This year, instead of the castle tunnel, the emphasis is on a frightful walking path. The route is divided into two sessions: a family audience from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and a more intense and spooky young adult audience from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The route passes through streets such as Sant Nacis, Nou, Desemparats, Forn d’Algarra, and Moreria Alley. Along with a special cemetery photocall and makeup workshops in the main square, Denia also includes a “Thriller” cooperative dance routine through the central plazas from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

This Halloween weekend on the Costa Blanca perfectly captures the essence of the area: a fusion of fun, tradition, and radiant Mediterranean charm, as the aroma of roasted chestnuts blends with the playful terror of trick-or-treaters. The upcoming days present a chance to make treasured Halloween and autumn memories, whether you decide to march in Torrevieja’s grand parade, make your way through the eerie alleys of Denia’s urban route or just take a leisurely stroll by the sea. The Costa Blanca is the ideal location for Halloween celebrations, so pull out your costume, get ready for some excitement, and enjoy the frightfully amazing events!
Happy Halloween!!
