Over the course of a week, three of the thefts happened in restaurants. The other six happened in cars stopped in a tourist cove.
Police in Calpe have arrested a 23-year-old guy they think is responsible for eight thefts that happened in public places and cars. The person in jail, who has been convicted of many property crimes before, has been sent back to jail to face these charges.
A restaurant in the town centre was broken into three times in January, and five times in cars parked near a tourist cove in the municipality, according to the Civil Guard. The crimes happened at the beginning of this month. In light of these events and to find and arrest the person guilty, Operation Creep II was launched by the Investigation Area of the Calpe Main Post.
Police investigations showed that the restaurant was robbed three times in one week. Each time, the front door was forced open with a knife or something similar. Someone took the cash register and a safe that had money in it. It was also the same plan for the car thefts: the thieves broke the windows and took personal items from inside the cars.
