Someone has been caught taking lemons near the Borrocat path by the local police in Elche. A police officer was doing their job when they saw a car parked next to a citrus field and thought it might be a possible home invasion.
As the police got closer to the car, it began to speed away. A few meters away, the cops stopped the car and started to check it out. In the trunk, they found three boxes full of lemons, one box full of oranges, and three more boxes that were empty.
When asked by the police, the 54-year-old driver said that he had taken the orange fruits from the branches that were sticking out from the property’s fence. He denied having climbed or gotten into the plot’s interior.
The police checked the area for signs of a possible break-in but didn’t see any damage to the fence.
Since it was impossible to figure out if there had been a theft, the suspect had to be named so that the right steps could be taken. The agents told the owner of the land what happened and gave him back all the stolen orange fruits.
