The Civil Guard of the town of Torrevieja in Alicante’s Citizen Security Unit (USECIC) caught two young men from Spain in Orihuela Costa. The men are 22 and 20 years old and are from Spain. Their crime of drug dealing is being charged against them. They were caught with 30 THC vapes and several plates of weed hidden in toy boxes. This is what is called tetrahydrocannabinol, and it is the main psychoactive ingredient in weed.
Monday, February 3, was the day of the events that led to this case. Agents from the Armed Institute stepped in when they saw a stopped car in Orihuela Costa whose driver seemed to have been high. When the police got close to the car where the suspect was found, they smelt something strong that they thought was hashish.
The agents then went on to check out the car in question. They opened it and found a cardboard box full of toys inside. In particular, it was a puzzle box that held a vacuum-sealed bag with hashish plates inside. There was also another building box inside that held 30 vapes that, according to their labels, had a high percentage of THC.
The police took 150 grammes of hashish that was spread out over four plates, 30 vapes with a lot of THC in them, 950 euros in cash, and three cell phones.
The people being held by the Civil Guard in this case have been given to the Court of Instruction Number 3 in the town of Orihuela, which is in the southern part of the province of Alicante. After taking some safety precautions, the court ruled that they be freed.
