According to a statement from the National Police, a 47-year-old man in Benidorm has been taken into custody by National Police officers for allegedly stealing a bag containing 4,800 euros in cash and the victim’s personal documents from inside a car using the “puncture” method.
Following a report from the robbery victim, the investigation got underway. She apparently parked her car in a supermarket parking lot, and as she was about to depart after finishing her shopping, a man informed her that her tire was flat. According to her testimony, he stole her suitcase from the passenger seat at that very moment by taking advantage of a moment of distraction.
Since the now-detained man allegedly punctured one of the wheels while the victim was shopping, the National Police claim that these incidents were done using the “puncture” approach.
He saw the occurrence when he got back to his car and stepped out to call for technical help. The alleged offender then used the victim’s preoccupation and the open car to steal the bag.
The agents identified the person suspected of the events after conducting a number of investigations. They also verified that he was a travelling individual who worked all over the country.
The 47-year-old Algerian who was suspected of stealing from inside a car was located and taken into custody. He was taken to the on-duty Benidorm court following the police inquiry.
