Airlines are already getting ready for what promises to be a record-breaking few months as the summer season approaches. 14.7 million seats are planned for the upcoming months at Alicante-Elche airport, and everything seems to point to 2025 seeing further passenger growth following the January record.
It is now Ryanair’s turn after airlines like EasyJet and Wizz Air announced new routes. Ryanair was the first airline to land at Alicante-Elche Airport and carried 7.3 million passengers in 2024, the most of any airline.
Ryanair has created three new routes with European towns that will have flights to the terminal for the first time, reaffirming their bet on Alicante for the summer. These are Linz and Salzburg in Austria, and Bydgoszcz in Poland. Tickets for the first-ever flights from all three cities to Alicante-Elche airport are now available on the airline’s website.
Starting on March 31st, Ryanair will start offering flights to Bydgoszcz, with two daily connections on Mondays and Thursdays. The trip to the Polish city will leave at 6:15 a.m. on Mondays and arrive at 9:35 a.m. The aircraft back will depart at 10:00 a.m. and arrive in Alicante at 1:20 p.m. Thursdays will be open from 17:25 to 20:45 in Alicante-Bydgoszcz and from 21:10 to 00:30 in the morning.
The city of Linz, which is traversed by the Danube, is the second new destination. On July 1st, the inaugural flight will depart, with connections on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A flight from Alicante to Linz is scheduled to depart at 7.35 am on the first day, arriving at 10.15 am, and the return flight is scheduled to depart at 10.40 am, arriving in Alicante at 1.20 pm. With regard to Saturdays, flights will depart Alicante at 3.50 pm and arrive at 6.30 pm, and depart Linz at 10.40 am and arrive at 1.20 pm.
The final stop, Salzburg, is renowned as one of Austria’s major cities and the birthplace of Mozart. The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart on March 31st and will operate on Mondays and Thursdays. The following are the schedules: Tuesdays depart Alicante at 10.10 a.m. and arrive at 12.45 p.m., and depart Salzburg at 1.25 p.m. and arrive at 4.05 p.m. The flight from Salzburg departs at 4.50 pm and lands at 7.30 pm on Thursday, while the flight from Alicante departs at 1.30 pm and lands at 4.05 pm.
New paths
Among the new routes for the summer are flights to Bournemouth and new connections with London made possible by the new Jet2 base. Additionally, Alicante will be connected to places like Athens and Naples by EasyJet.
