Following the most recent training exam administered by the Mobility Department of Elche City Council, 117 new drivers will join the municipality’s taxi service.
Out of the 203 individuals who registered, 131 took the test on February 22nd at Miguel Hernández University’s (UMH) Altabix building, and 117, or 89%, passed. In the Mobility area’s taxi section on the municipal website, the list of those who passed has already been made public. The objection period is two working days, on February 27th and 28th.
This is one of the actions taken by the local administration to improve services and promote mobility.
One of the initiatives put in place by this local government to “continue to support the improvement of this service and to advance in the area of Mobility” is the taxi driver qualification exam. Claudio Guilabert, the local councillor, has praised the current cooperation between the Elche City Council and the two taxi associations in the city to set a number of guidelines that support the improved operation of this service.
Guilabert noted that since this municipal government took office, attempts have been made to examine service rates, unlock the 24 taxi permits, and improve taxi ranks in accordance with industry expectations. Simultaneously, the goal of placing bets on seasonal licenses during the months when the city experiences the highest influx in order to expand the service’s capacity remains.
