Tomorrow, Saturday, March 1st, the GEA Association and the Department of the Environment are planning a cleanup day the area around the lighthouse observation point. While the remaining volunteers will be working in the mountain’s accessible part, the specialists will be scaling the cape’s side.
Together with the Department of the Environment, the GEA Alicante association, a volunteer organisation that encourages social and environmental action and provides emergency assistance, is once again planning a clean-up day on the slopes of Cape Santa Pola, at the summit of the lighthouse viewing point.
On Saturday, March 1st, at 11:00, GEA volunteers will begin sliding down the slope with harnesses to collect waste that is hard to reach while taking all the safety precautions needed for vertical work. The remaining volunteers who wish to participate will conduct a sweep of the accessible area.
30 volunteers collected 30 kilogrammes of rubbish over 40,000 square meters at the previous event, which took place in April of last year. Libera, SEO Birdlife, and Ecoembes are also participating in this project.
