As part of Operation Torsi-25, the Guardia Civil removed an indoor marijuana cultivation found in an industrial warehouse in AlmoradÃ. A 37-year-old British man was detained by Guardia Civil officers on suspicion of a crime against public health as a result of the operation.
The investigation began with the cooperation of people who alerted the Guardia Civil to a noise that could be heard outside a warehouse in the town centre, particularly around dawn, that appeared to be from some type of industrial gear.
Unusual Transfer
The officers began researching the event and discovered strange activity in the area, leading them to believe it was a marijuana plantation.
Once the required proof had been acquired, the agents sought admission and a search of the property, arresting the plantation’s owner as he attempted to exit the warehouse.
Divide into segments
Plasterboard panels and concealed doors divided the warehouse into compartments during the search. They concealed a sophisticated marijuana farm with automatic irrigation, lighting, and ventilation systems to minimise human presence during cultivation.
The Guardia Civil recovered 616 huge marijuana plants, 79 lamps, 23 extractor tubes, filters, fans, tanks, fertilisers, and numerous phytosanitary goods, confirming that the plant was also illegally connected to the electrical grid.
The detainee, who has a history of similar crimes, was brought before the Orihuela Court of Instruction No. 1, which authorised his release on bail.
