A few days ago, the Guardia Civil initiated a large operation to find a man from La Unión who was suspected of domestic violence and left after reportedly hitting his former girlfriend. The operation concluded yesterday, Monday May 19th, with the finding of the man’s deceased body in a well, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The individual’s car was discovered in the municipality of Llano del Beal, Cartagena, which has various mining trenches that the Guardia Civil investigated.
To recover the remains from the location, personnel from the Guardia Civil’s Special Group of Underwater Activities (GEAS) were dispatched to the well to rescue the lifeless body.
Previously, the Guardia Civil scoured the area for the individual both on the ground with dog guides and from the air with a helicopter. They also investigated shops in the Cartagena vicinity to see if anyone knew where the man was.
According to the same sources, this person was wanted for allegedly attacking his ex.
While the final autopsy results are still awaiting, the main opinion is that the man voluntarily threw himself into the well, however a forensic test will determine this.
